Bendigo Community Health Services - Wellbeing Activity Centre
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has allocated funding through its Regional Health Infrastructure Fund to Bendigo Community Health Services (BCHS) to design, develop and construct a Wellbeing Activity Centre. The planned centre will be located at 137 Holdsworth Road, North Bendigo providing an integrated therapeutic response for community where they can access individual and group psycho-social and clinical Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) programs.
The Holdsworth Road site is owned by DHHS and has been occupied by BCHS since April 2004. From the site BCHS currently provide Residential Withdrawal services through the co-located Nova House building and Non-Residential AOD services from a former residential weatherboard building towards the rear of the site.
It is envisaged that Nova House will remain, and the new facility will replace the former residential building and comprise counselling rooms, office space, clinic rooms, group training / workshop space, physical activity space and kitchen facilities. Besides catering for individuals within the community, the building design will also consider how families and parents can access services with the aid of children supports. An integrated approach will require adequate facilities and space for the complimentary services from providers other than BCHS (other site tenants). The site will also require appropriate parking space to be developed for clients and staff.
BCHS has previously completed a conceptual brief and draft schematic as part of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund proposal, identifying the need for facility redevelopment and broadly outlining the services to be co-located from the site. BCHS is seeking a Consultant Project Manager to complete this Capital Development project as set out in this Consultant Brief.
